Way to go Uncle Jax!
We had so much fun going to Dixon's Uncle Jackson's football games this year. Well, Dixon had so much fun running around like a wild man, and we had fun trying to catch the big moments of the game! :)
And there were big moments, by Uncle Jackson! He was just named to First Team All District. Along with cousin Chance. These boys are awesome and we can't wait until next year...when we will have two baby boys at the Friday night games...;)

it's a bird, it's a plane,
Even though it was cold and a little rainy it proved to be an awesome Halloween.
We went up to the square where store owners were handing out candy. Then we made the rounds to the grandparents houses, the ones who were not sick, of course. ;)

ahhhhh...
On Monday I woke Dixon up to find him bright red with a temp of 104...
After a nightmare two hour trip to the dr. which included blood drawn, two antibiotic shots, x rays, flu test, and more, it was decided that Dixon had an early pnemonia as well as Type A Influenza (H1N1).
STRESS!
The challenge of the next few days was to get Dixon to drink, sleep, keep his fever under 101.5 and stay out of the ER.
We completed all objectives with success and will be done with his Tamiflu and antibiotic tomorrow...
Now we can get back to normal...you know getting dirty and playing in dog food...
That's normal, right?

In other news Dixon and I have got our H1N1 shots last week, so we are hopefully safe....Although we both have colds at the moment.
The baby crib is set up...just waiting on the changing table and matress and we will be ready for our next little bundle of joy...who has just been scheduled to arrive on December 30th!
Adam will start his new hours next week...noon to 9 Monday through Friday...with weekends off for the first time in as long as I can remember!!! :) I will miss his help at night, but I will be glad to have weekends together!

School story...
As I mentioned, I have been struggling with a cold...Today in math class I sneezed then moved on with what I was doing. As I bent down to answer a question, the student and I both looked at my shirt at the same time. He exclaimed, "YUCK!" Once everyone looked at him he remarked, "You have snot all over you!"
Cue thirty 9th and 10th graders to erupt in laughter.

tickle tickle and 18 months
They are seriously amazing! It is the only sippy cup I have found that does not spill or leak, ever. AND Dixon can still get the liquid out! They are a little pricey at first, especially at the gas station BUT they are dishwasher safe AND have 100% juice. We wash and use ours many times over. If you have a toddler, these are a MUST have! Go to Kum and Go today!
Dixon got his regular flu shot today and tomorrow we head off to a local church to wait in line to get our H1N1 shots. Wish us luck for a short line and a happy baby.

pumpkin patch :)
A sweet baby goat.
Not to worry though...I have a student who works out there who I reported the goat incident to.
The next day at school he said, "Hey Mrs. Alexander, I got that goat in a head lock last night."
Love it.

It's okay to eat pot pies in the bathtub.

One of my favorite children's books of all time is It's Okay to be Different by Todd Parr.
I love his bright colors and whimsical pictures.
One of the pages declares that, "It's okay to eat macaroni and cheese in the bathtub."
This was not exactly the case tonight, but we did end up eating supper in the bathtub...a pot pie.
I will not go into detail, but it involves frozen icees, a slight case of frost bite, and a 18 month old who is discovering his strong will.
Needless to say Dixon ate more for supper tonight than he has in weeks. And clean up was a breeze. ;)
